Superhydrophilic antifouling technology for plastics and fibreglass manufacturers

Polgaze is developing a polymer surface technology for manufacturers evaluating antifouling options for plastic, polycarbonate and fibreglass components.

Antifouling performance

Internal laboratory work has demonstrated antifouling performance. Independent commercial durability validation remains pending.

Chlorine and oxidation

Internal laboratory work has also demonstrated resistance to chlorine and oxidation. No independently validated commercial durability claim is being made.

Formulation in progress

The final formulation is approaching completion. Further independent validation under commercially relevant conditions is still required.

Designed for manufacturer evaluation

Polgaze's superhydrophilic antifouling polymer is being developed to reduce biological fouling and surface contamination on plastics, polycarbonate and fibreglass products exposed to water and demanding operating environments.

Successful commercial application could reduce cleaning requirements, help maintain surface performance and provide manufacturers with a differentiated product offering. These are potential commercial benefits, not independently validated outcomes.

Substrate fit, application requirements and long-term performance need to be evaluated for each intended use. Independent long-term durability validation remains pending. Polgaze welcomes discreet discussions with manufacturers interested in technical evaluation or potential licensing.
